Sony - Xperia J1 Compact Launched In Japan

Sony has announced today the Xperia J1 Compact (D5788) for Japan, the company's first SIM-free smartphone in the country. The unlocked phone is similar in specifications to the Xperia A2 for NTT DoCoMo.

This includes a 4.3" 720p display, 20.7MP Exmor RS camera and a 2,300mAh battery. Power comes from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM. All of this is secured in a good looking body that's IP68-certified.

Sony will launch the phone on April 20 in a cool looking white and champagne color combination. Pre-orders start on March 27.

As yet there is no information to suggest this model will be available in the UK.
